Weston Executive Airport is fully operational with the appointment by KPMG of Aviation Management expert Premier Aviation. Premier Aviation’s Captain John McCallion took over full operational control and management of Weston Airport on May 30th and has already breathed new life into the Airport.
Capt. John McCallion and his team at Weston Airport have already made extensive and significant changes that have been warmly welcomed by operators based at the airport. Further plans are being evaluated to expand and continue to develop Weston Executive Airport as a centre of excellence for General Aviation and Pilot Training in Ireland.
McCallion said “This is an exciting challenge and opportunity for us and we are already seeing the fruits of our efforts as new tenants seek facilities here. Aviation traffic has greatly increased since May. All areas of the operation at Weston have been analysed and major changes have been made to ensure every area, including fuel, fire rescue and security procedures, on site business development assistance, training and the development of Flight Schools are supported by the new Management team”.
Weston currently boasts three Fixed Wing Flight Training schools, two Helicopter Training schools together with specialist scenic and filming aviation companies operating at the Airport. There approximately 80 full time and 45 part-time staff currently working at Weston.

“With the recent addition of Ireland’s only Private Air Ambulance Plane as new tenants and other operators seeking hangarage and facilities at Weston, we are bucking the trend, increasing business in a time of recession” After an evaluation of the core business, Premier Aviation is on course to increase the workforce at Weston Executive Airport to in excess of 200 people in the medium to long term.
Weston Airport with extensive Class G airspace to the west, while also being strategically located between the busy airspace of Dublin Airport and Baldonnel, makes Weston Airport an excellent training environment and ideal for commercial aviation business to operate, with attractive fuel prices, landing fees.
Weston Airport is easily accessible via the M50 and N4 and within minutes of Dublin city making it attractive as a business base for flight training, general aviation companies and also for the general public to visit. Captain John McCallion has extended an invitation to pilots, GA and aviation related business sectors to visit Weston and view the extensive facilities available to them.
